Black Cockatoo

BLACK COCKATOO

Nestled amongst the hills of the Dandenong Ranges was once a cold, dark and delapedated home.

We were given the brief which strongly required ample amounts of natural light, year round warmth and a deep connection to the beauty that surrounded the home. Over a 12 month period we meticulously transformed this home into the warm, bright and aesthetically beautiful home it is now.

Stunning spotted gum double glazed windows were situated to create passive airflow throughout, to harness the warmth of the fireplace and underfloor heating and to embrace the exterior when in all locations of the home. The double glazed sky lit hallway and bathroom ceilings added ample amounts of natural light which allowed the home to glow at all times of the day and night, cutting electricity bills by as much as ¼, as lighting was no longer required during the day.

We did all landscaping for this project also, reclaiming old railway sleepers to create the ample amounts of stairs and paths throughout the beautifully landscaped gardens. This stunning 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom boutique home was a pleasure to work on, our clients were thrilled with the end result which makes the process extremely rewarding.

BOUTIQUE DESIGN

We reclaimed old telegraph poles to reinstate the existing deck structure and used a fallen tree from beyond the property to create the Yoga studio situated at the base of the property which also had reclaimed timber windows and lining boards which gave it an incredibly earthy feeling.
